Overview

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a People Assistant to join the People Team at Argos Kettering. This opportunity will give the right person the chance to progress within a Human Resources role and gain understanding and knowledge of the department. Reporting ultimately to the People Manager, the overall purpose of the role is to assist in the provision of an effective and efficient HR service.

Salary £23.000 per annum

How will you contribute?

• Supporting managers with use of the HR and T&A systems
• Communicating effectively on a daily basis with internal and external customers
• Building and maintaining relationships with colleagues from other departments
• Maintaining departments HR reports
• Ensuring the timely investigation and resolution of queries/issues
• All related HR administration
• Will include an aspect of advising managers on Company Policies and Procedures and employment legislation
• Contributing towards the improvement of processes/methods of operating practises within the department

What will you bring?

• Must have some previous knowledge or transferrable skills
• Knowledge of existing policies regarding family leave would be desirable but is not mandatory
• Must have a flexible and adaptable approach to demands and changes in work activity
• Is confident, self motivated, organised and able to work on their own initiative and under pressure
• Has a willingness to learn and take ownership for personal development
• Pays great attention to detail and has the ability to accurately input and interpret data
• Must be an effective communicator with the ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels
• Must be an effective time planner with the ability to balance workloads and work to deadlines
• Must have the ability to work as part of a team; being able to influence and persuade when necessary
• PC literacy is essential
• Has a desire to broaden their knowledge with a qualification or further learning within their current role
