Job Description

* This role is fixed term for up to 12 months (maternity cover) *

We’re looking for a business improvement officer to work with the business planning manager to ensure we deliver our business objectives and identify and implement improvements.

You will work in the business planning and improvement team. The business planning and improvement team is responsible for business planning, managing risk, resource planning, developing and reviewing policies and creating and embedding assurance across the whole organisation.

You will have a fantastic opportunity to work with colleagues at all levels, including senior management, executive directors and board members and contribute to the development of a young and learning organisation.

What you will do

  • Work with colleagues to develop a business plan which aligns with our strategic ambitions, within resource and funding constraints
  • Develop our monitoring and reporting tools to ensure that we have a clear understanding of progress being made on business objectives
  • Identify risks to delivery of the business plan and work with colleagues to agree actions to rectify
  • Develop our approach to capturing, monitoring and reporting on business improvements and impact of improvements
  • Collate information from across the organisation to support the leadership in decision-making.
  • Work with colleagues to understand, record and report on risk, taking a lead role in training colleagues on risk management.
  • Support colleagues to develop their understanding of our risk management approach and provide administrative support in relation to the risk register
  • Lead on shaping our approach to policy management, working with colleagues across the organisation to ensure policies are up-to-date, legally compliant, forward-thinking and inclusive
  • Help to implement our new assurance framework across all parts of the organisation including reviewing the effectiveness of the framework
