You’ll work with teams from RIS, Customer Compliance Group (CCG), across HMRC and beyond. Your analysis will support frontline colleagues across CCG and HMRC to deliver our Compliance strategy.
You’ll fully exploit new data and technology helping us to identify and predict patterns of behaviour and understand emerging trends.

As a RIS PCD CID Data Analyst you will:
Use a variety of software to analyse and interpret data to come up with conclusions and recommendations. You will help our business grow the boundaries of what can be achieved using data.
Profile data sets to meet sophisticated criteria.
Use your skills to predict patterns of behaviour and understand emerging trends.
Work with colleagues across the organisation to identify and clarify the scope and requirements of analytical work.
Optimally communicate your analysis, influencing both technical and non-technical colleagues.
You will need to be comfortable learning to use new tools and large data sets, including taxpayer, government, public and commercially available data.
You will also need to provide evidence that you:
Have experience of analysing data, able to manage conflicting demands and priorities, providing progress updates on your work.
Have a tried ability to be flexible and manage tight deadlines.
Experience of delivering analytical projects in an analytical or statistics related field.
Previous experience in using applications to manipulate multiple data sets, for example, using Excel to merge, analyse and consolidate data using pivot tables, functions and charts.
Able to use analytical software such as R, SAS, SQL, Access, Pentaho (or similar software packages) to manipulate complex data sets.
Level 3 qualification (A level or equivalent) in mathematics or science. You will be asked to provide evidence of your qualifications before the interview stage.
